Background
Phoenix Resourcing Services is a multi-sector UK recruiter operating across engineering, logistics, facilities management, construction, energy, and data centres. With a mix of temporary and permanent placements, the business needed a platform capable of handling the full complexity of high-volume, fast-moving recruitment.
Prior to Seven20, PRS ran on a collection of disconnected systems inherited over time. Data lived across spreadsheets, Outlook inboxes, and legacy tools that had long since stopped developing. The business was functional, but the foundations were fragile.
The challenge
When Bullhorn announced it would cease development on the platform PRS was using, it forced a decision the business had been approaching for some time. Rik Snarey, Director at PRS, knew what was needed: a single platform that could consolidate everything, handle both temp and perm workflows, and not add friction to the daily work of busy consultants.
The bigger concern was the temp piece.
With a large contingent workforce, the integration between the CRM/ATS and payroll had to work on day one. There was no margin for error.
Forced timing: Bullhorn's decision to stop developing the platform PRS relied on forced a decision that had been building for a while.
Two workflows, one platform: the new system had to handle both temp and perm recruitment without adding friction.
No margin for error: payroll integration for a large contingent workforce had to work correctly from day one.
"We needed to homogenise everything into a single place. And when we went live, it needed to work. Straight away."
Why Seven20?
PRS evaluated several Salesforce-native platforms, including Bullhorn and Target Recruit. What set Seven20 apart was the combination of a genuinely intuitive UI and a team that clearly understood the recruitment context, not just the technology.
Enterprise-grade confidence: the depth of the Salesforce ecosystem meant infrastructure PRS could rely on, without the risk of being acquired or deprioritised.
Direct access to the builders: PRS wanted to be able to talk to the people actually building the platform.
"Out of everyone we spoke to, we felt that you guys got us. The UI, especially for perm recruitment, was very intuitive. Out of the box, Seven20 offered that better than any of the others."
The implementation
With a Bullhorn renewal looming in October and a sign-off in August, PRS had a two-to-three month window to go live. The project was fast-paced by any standard.
Real-world stress test: a business founder was brought in specifically to test usability if it worked for him, it would work for everyone.
Migration-first: data migration accounted for roughly 85% of the project effort, handled with pace by the Seven20 team.
When issues surfaced, they were resolved quickly. Everyone got paid on the Monday morning — that was the measure that mattered.
The results
Three years on, the transformation is clear. Where data once lived across emails, Excel sheets, and fragmented tools, 95% of PRS's work is now conducted on platform. That shift has fundamentally changed what leadership can see and act on.
95% on-platform: Work that once lived across emails and spreadsheets now runs through a single system.
Real visibility: Pipeline reporting, trend analysis, and performance dashboards give leadership a level of insight they didn't have before.
Faster adoption: Minimal onboarding needed consultants were running on the platform within days, without meaningful friction.
"We've got eyes on things now. We can see what's going on rather than what we think is going on. That wasn't happening before."
Looking ahead
PRS is now exploring what the next chapter of their Seven20 investment looks like, with AI tooling on Salesforce high on the roadmap. The platform is already in place. The question is how far to go.
For Rik, the advice to anyone considering a similar move is simple: keep the initial configuration clean, take data migration seriously, and build the relationship with the team on both sides. The platform has more capability than most businesses will use on day one. That's a feature, not a problem.
Advice for others
"Even at our best, we're probably using about 10% of what the platform can do. That tells you everything about the ceiling."
